Both checks and a debit card are available with our personal checking account, which comes with these features:

  • No minimum deposit to open an account
  • Up to 6 free ATM withdrawals per month; unlimited in-branch withdrawals
  • Overdraft protection available
  • Low monthly fee of $5 (see below for ways to waive the fee)

Personal checking account is for individuals. Account options for small businesses and nonprofit organizations are available on our business section.

How to Avoid the $5 Monthly Fee

  • Be 65 years of age or older
  • Have monthly combined direct deposit(s) of $500 or more into one or more Self-Help Credit Union accounts
  • Maintain an average daily balance of $2,500 or more across all of your Self-Help Credit Union accounts (checking, savings, certificates, etc.)
